 
Giada De Laurentiis (born August 22, 1970) is an Italian-American chef, currently host of the Food Network program Everyday Italian and Behind The Bash. De Laurentiis studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France before becoming a professional chef, working in several Los Angeles restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck's Spago. In addition to her cooking show, De Laurentiis has appeared on several Food Network specials. De Laurentiis is also the founder of catering business GDL Foods.
De Laurentiis was born in Rome, Italy, the daughter of Veronica De Laurentiis and Alex De Benedetti, and moved to Southern California when she was seven. She is the granddaughter of film producer Dino De Laurentiis and Silvana Mangano, a noted Italian actress of her day. She holds a degree in social anthropology from UCLA (1996). She is married to Todd Thompson, a clothing designer for the Anthropologie company.
Her food program, Everyday Italian, has been broadcast since 2003, and she has written an accompanying book, Everyday Italian: 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes (2005). De Laurentiis began hosting another show on the Food Network, Behind the Bash, in October 2005, exploring the catering behind big-name extravaganzas such as the Grammys.
